I just broke something. I think it was my brain.

Okay, first things first:

I'm done tinkering with my DreamWidth account! It's up and ready and my fic-journal is as well and so, so pretty and I adore it! ♥

Alright, with that out of the way, I can continue:

Patrick Wolf has released a new single, but since I've been anti-social lately, I missed its release and saw it just now. EPIC FAIL.
But ho-boy, Vulture is fantastic. And the music video... Hell yes. Just note, it's NSFW.

From Patrick's MySpace:
"Filmed in black & white, photographic style, it shows an enraptured, semi naked Patrick writhing in a full S&M, bondage outfit. The controversial scenes are intercut with those of Patrick as the leather clad ‘Vulture’ and as an unmasked icon. Inspired by experiences Patrick gained and suffered on the American leg of the 2007 'Magic Position' tour, the video perfectly depicts these experiences, which Patrick describes as ‘getting involved in some dodgy satanic sex games and exploring the many dark sides of Los Angeles’."

Yum. And I'm not even into BDSM. But hell yes, Patrick Wolf in tight leather and make-up is not something I turn down. ♥ (Hm? Twisted? Me? I don't know what you're talking about. *g*)

Shallowness aside: I must say that I really like the lyrics; they describe his feelings in that unpleasant situation very well, I think, especially since he was also depressed at the time. And the imaginary is creepy-nice in that Patrick Wolf-way he has. But dammit, I'll have to come back and be deep and analytical later; my brain is completely on the blink after this video. I repeat: yum.

!!!!If it works, do you think you could send me an invitation too? I don't wanna wait till the 30th XD

And I'm SORRY for the beta-reading. Well, to be more precise: sorry to be so late. I'm just starting D: Sorry sorry sorry! I feel like an arse now D: *does some grovelling*

(and currently i'm kinda hung up on patrick wolf's 'boy like me')

oh oh oh and i remember asking you if you've got anything to chat with and you said yes and i said i hadn't anything but now i have MSN so - is that any good for chatting with you XD?

[identity profile] beeinmybonnet.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I've asked for one, but apparently they dish them out and random. But when I get one, I promise I'll send you one! ♥ (It's practically dead now; I want more friends there. *g*)

Gods, you don't need to grovel! It's fine; no need to worry. ♥ That said, I'll go back to my whint, bratty self and ask when I can expect the fics back. *g*

(THANK SONG IS AWESOME. I love it with all my heart. Also, it also reminds me of Sirius. Cause or effect, you think? :D)

MSN is the one thing that my parents won't allow me to have. EPIC FAIL. But you have gmail, right? GoogleChat should work then. I'll search for you, 'kay? (Though I don't think I'll be able to chat today; I'm far too exhausted already. Though there is this weekend, and I even have Friday off. :D (Yes, I'm so hopeless I even need to decide chat-dates in advance. *facepalm*))

heeeh cool :D thankies! but that thing dreamwidth looks really fun. i hope it'll be as popular as LJ one day.

I rather think 'cause' since it's a little bit too folk-like for 'effect' for Sirius, IMO :p

*headshot* I manage to turn around everything - you have told me which messengers you've got, after all D:

Okay cool! I trust you to do that thing with GoogleChat since I don't know how...

[identity profile] chalada.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
... I still don't see the point of livejournal 2dreamwidth. Somebody help me? xD

[identity profile] beeinmybonnet.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, for once thing, the system is smoother. It's like LJ, but with tweaks and such. Also, they've already said that they're fine with fanfiction which is a relief for rabid writers like me; knowing that someone won't just delete all of my hard work even when I have JKR's blessing. (Alright, so she might not approve of all the porn, but the rest should be fine. *g*)

Also, I can play around with pretty layouts and icons. Which is FUN, and I'm shallow like that. XD

[identity profile] beeinmybonnet.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope so too! BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY SAYS FANFICS ARE ALRIGHT, THANK GODS.

Really? And here I keep associating folky music with HP because it sounds magic-like. *g*

No worries! Brains are traitorous things, after all, you can never trust them.

You should have gotten an invitation to something-or-other-that's-chat-related with 'youngfreak92'. If so, I've done it correctly. If not, I failed and have to try again. *g*

[identity profile] chalada.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen much of it, but it looks kind of exactly like lj. xD Anyways, it sounds nice that they're okay with fanfiction, but idk, they can't just ignore the laws concerning fanfiction (especially the really creepy incest kind) forever? It might work as long as it stays a small community, but as it grows, people will recognize it and whoever's hosting it might get into serious trouble. :/ But we'll see.

Shallow? Icons are the most important things about journals! ;)

I have split opinions here; in a way I agree with you, but at the same time, I want to wave signs saying "Don't Like, Don't Read!" I mean, yes, incest is in most cases creepy (to be honest and revealing, I sort of shipped a brother/brother pairing in another fandom -- Liquid/Snake from Metal Gear Solid. HOWEVER, I'd like to note that they had never met until they were in their 30's, only Liquid knew Snake was his brother, they're both clones and not "actual" brothers, Liquid is generally pretty screwed-up in the head, and I shipped it one-way (Liquid -> Snake) because I thought that A) it tied in nicely with is hate-admiration-jealousy-godknowswhat relationship with Snake, and B) he was sending out some really strange/creepy vibes in the game. So, er, yeah, I'm a nut, but as was he. But I sort of liked it because it was so twisted and creepy.) but there are books being released with incest and/or underage-sex themes, so if that's allowed, why not fanfiction? Don't get me wrong, I do go "... Ew." about Sirius/Regulus fics, for example, and apart for my guilty pleasure for one-sided Liquid/Snake, I'm not really into incest. But I'm against the idea of setting rules like "You can't write about this," because if one thing is forbidden, why can't X also be? I don't like other people setting the boundaries; it's a principle of mine. But yes, this is a tricky and sensitive question. (Especially since you brought up incest. XD;; I tend to avoid conversations about that, because I'm of the opinion of the siblings (note siblings, and not child-parent) didn't know they are related or it's revealed much later in their relationship, it shouldn't just be shoved into the same category as the icky uncle molesting his nephew. However, I seem to be the only one with this opinion.)

... Gods, have I utterly offended/insulted/freaked you out? If so, I'm so sorry. I try to avoids discussions online because I get so ranty with my opinions. D:

I THOUGHT WIND IN THE WIRES WAS RACY; IT'S NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS. And by gods, doesn't he have such a sexy, throaty voice? ♥

I think what I like the best about this is how much he has changed again. With Lycanthropy he was blond and afrustrated and "all over the place", like he said himself; with Wind in the Wires he was black-haired and much darked, sadder; with The Magic Position he was red/orange-haired (looking his very best, imho) and cheerful and perky; and now, with The Bachelor, he's super-blonde again and sexy-rocky. He's never constant, probably because he has a chaos inside him, but I can't help but like him for that. *g*

[identity profile] beeinmybonnet.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
That's the best with Patrick Wolf! You can do all three things at the same time! *g* I give him tons of cred for ignoring "mainstream"; yes, music videos are very sexualized nowadays, but how many involves men dressed up in bondage gear? Hm? ♥ *fangirls*

[identity profile] chalada.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
No, don't worry! ;)

Well. I'm guilty of a twincest ship in Digimon (this is wrong on so many levels, I know, but they were too cute together, even in canon), but they also had no idea that they even had a brother before. That's pretty much how I see it, too. If they haven't grown up together as siblings or find out that they're related later AND if the fanfiction actually has a plot apart from "Hey brother, I fancy you, let's shag!", it can be really good.

The problem here's rather that too many people write exactly this PWP NC-17 stuff, no matter if it's incest or not and don't mind adding the nephew/uncle molesting you mentioned - without bringing up the fact that it might be wrong or creepy or something. (It doesn't even have to be, but that mostly depends on the skills of the writer.)

[identity profile] beeinmybonnet.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 09:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, if you're guilty of that as well, then I feel a lot better. *g*

Exactly! And I very much agree with the "a good writing can make pretty much anything alright" point as well. My current guilty pleasure is Teddy/Harry, although one-sided from Teddy's point of view, but I like it because it's so wrong and creepy. The mere thought of a fluffy T/H fic makes we want to gag. I read it because I want the emotional baggage, screwed-upness, mental torment and sheer OMGWTF-value. It's meant to be dark and twisted. Otherwise it's just... no thanks.
