Hullo! See, I'm not dead. Or I was, and then reborn. Choose whatever you like the best. *g* But now school is finally over, THANK GOD, and I can be more active again. So, how've you all been? ♥
Somewhat interesting stuff I've been up to while I've been gone:
So. Now I'll just get back to answering the reviews to His Girl as well as a couple of very over-due e-mails, and then I'm back on track. I think? Suppose? Hope? Pray?
Somewhat interesting stuff I've been up to while I've been gone:
- A couple of weeks ago, Maurice was on the telly and I decided to watch it, because hey, a period film with a homoerotic Oxbridge romance as the main plot? It's like a dream come true to me. I won't get into a real review, because I want to read the book first and then write a proper review. (In a few words, my review is this: OMFGSQUEE~ ♥ as well as an unhealthy amount of giggles over seeing a young Hugh Grant playing a closet case and making out with James Wilby. *g*) I recorded it, so I've watched it about 3½ times, methinks, but I've ordered the DVD and I desperatly hope it'll arrive soon so I can watch the film without bloody commercials interrupting every other scene.
- Internet bookshops are brilliant because they actually have the titles I want, but it takes ages for them to arrive, dammit. It took me two weeks to get my two copies of Hamlet (the original English version and the translated one) and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (utterly, absolutely, brilliantly amazing and ROSENCRANTZ ♥ ♥) and now I've sent for another heap. Maurice, the original and untranslated Brideshead Revisited and Wuthering Heights shall hopefully end up in my letter box before this summer is over. I also raided the tragically scanty library and borrowed an audio book of Sense and Sensibility, in the original English, read by Susannah Harker, a.k.a. Miss Jane Bennet. *g* Classic English literature has suddenly roused my old passion for books back to life; I'm quite happy about it. ♥
- I've now watched Twilight, with my mum, because she wanted to. And oh gods, I hate it. I won't get into a rant, just, ARGH, Twilight is awful. There were two good things with the film, though. 1) Bella's dream-vision of Edward munching on her was hot, with his tousled hair and blood dripping from the corner of his mouth, because it was vampire-like and really, really sexy in a sick and twisted and giggle kind of way. It's not, however, the initial reaction I would have if I found out my crush was, in fact, a vampire. *facedesk* And 2) What's-his-name the foster-father munching on Edward's neck was deliciously slashy and hot. (YES, I have a thing for necks and for biting and specially those two combined, so please shut up. *g*) Noticed that they didn't show that scene again, but rather the one with what's-his-face and his wife?
- THE
rs_games HAVE FINALLY KICKED OFF! Which probably isn't much of a surprise for you, since it has been for a while. ♥
