Three posts in one day – I’m so sorry! D: I’ll shut up for several days now, I promise.

TOOOONY ♥

Cut for Iron Man 2 spoilers, squeeing and capslock. )

I probably shouldn’t write LJ entries rapidly without proofreading first, but I AM EXCITED.

It’s actually kind of fascinating how closely connected the memory is to the senses of smell and taste. For example, the smell of dried nail varnish reminds me of Marvel Comics and Iron Man in particular, because the time when I was the most obsessed by them coincided with when I started to paint my nails on a regular basis. The taste of Pepsi reminds me of Sherlock Holmes, since I started to buy it just before I went to the cinema, because I wanted something ~special~ to drink then. Cardamom reminds me of manga, because I was nuts about cardamom buns when I was twelve. And then there’s the soap in the bathroom downstairs, which drives me insane because it reminds me of something that I can’t put my finger on.

Why, yes, I am currently sleep-deprived. How are you all doing?

Ohmygod, I’m going to see Iron Man 2 this evening, Icanbarelycontainmyexcitement, I’ll even wear my cutest skirt!

Oh Yeah!

I don't do RPF.

I don't.

Really, I don't.

So for Heaven's sake and Lord have mercy, Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, stop acting so bloody love-birdy with each other!

Yes, these are real. No, they're not manipulated. Yes, do act that gay. You can see them in their full glory here.

Sherlock Holmes was transformed when he was hot upon such a scent as this. Men who had only known the quiet thinker and logician of Baker Street would have failed to recognize him. His face flushed and darkened. His brows were drawn into two hard black lines, while his eyes shone out from beneath them with a steely glitter. His face was bent downward, his shoulders bowed, his lips compressed, and the veins stood out like whipcord in his long, sinewy neck. His nostrils seemed to dilate with a purely animal lust for the chase, and his mind was so absolutely concentrated upon the matter before him that a question or remark fell unheeded upon his ears, or, at the most, only provoked a quick, impatient snarl in reply.
The Boscombe Valley Mystery

No, Watson is not describing his and Holmes' sex life, but rather Holmes when he's about to crawl in the mud in search for clues.

Oh, how I love my canon.

"I mean to find her," said Sherlock Holmes. "I'm going through this house till I do find her."
"Where is your warrant?" [asked the criminal]
Holmes half drew a revolver from his pocket. "This will have to serve till a better one comes."
"Why, you are a common burglar."
"So you might describe me," said Holmes cheerfully. "My companion is also a dangerous ruffian. And together we are going through your house."
The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax

Pretty, pretty please, can this appear in the sequel? Because I can picture it so clearly in my mind; RDJ maniacally grinning with Hotson looming behind-beside him.

Also, a fic rec! Homo Ex Machina by [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy. It's a 14,000 words long piece of marvellous crack. I was writhing in laughter as I read it; it truly is a work of art.

Can someone please tell me when promoting a film became synonymous with the two male leads gushing about and blatantly "man-crushing" on each other?

Now, if you excuse me, I need to go and salvage whatever remains of my brain; the thought of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law together is clearly too much for me to handle.

Also, almost apropos of nothing, I think I'm falling in love with [livejournal.com profile] katieforsythe's fics. Seriously, even if the mere idea of Sherlock Holmes fanfiction make you shudder, try one of hers. They are all pieces of fine craftsmanship.

... All right, so I caved in.

That is utter crack. I am so going to see this film. Why isn't it the 1st of January yet and when can I book my ticket? Smiley

I also highly recommend this; it's very entertaining.

Now, where did I put my Sherlock Holmes books...?
