I’ve just been to
holmes_big_bang’s summary post and done my part.
Ffffffff. What the deuce. What have I gotten myself into? D:
Okay, Anna, calm down. Deep breaths. In. Out. In. Out. All right. Okay.
Deadline isn’t until June. It’s ages until then. Don’t worry. There’s also the fic collaboration-thingamajig with
ladylovelace, which takes care of the can’t-focus-on-one-thing-at-a-time-ever problem. And this bigbang fic will mostly consist of banter and shilly-shallying. I’m good at writing that. I’m also verbose to a fault, so breaking the 20k limit will be a piece of cake. Don’t worry.
… Can someone please hand me a paper-bag?
(Also, does anyone know how one gets a hold on one of those word-counter things? You know, the narrow bars that gradually fill the more you write? I’ve seen others have them but I don’t know where I can find one for myself.)

Date: 2010-02-25 09:15 am (UTC)For extra-bonus help, have you heard of Write or Die (http://writeordie.drwicked.com/)? It's a good way to force yourself to meet word counts. Very useful.
Ohh, ooooooh, and yWriter (http://www.spacejock.com/yWriter.html), which allows you to write individual scenes and slice them up and put them together into chapters and stuff later and have character profiles and junk. I wish I could write in a non-linear fashion so I could get some use out of this program because it has so many bells and whistles.
Just call me Prometheus, except with writerly tools instead of fire.

Date: 2010-02-25 09:48 am (UTC)I was this close to writing "A fic in which bugger-all happens and Holmes and Watson are neurotic wrecks" but figured it didn't sound all that exciting a summary.
::grabs links:: Thank you, my literary Prometheus! ♥ yWriter sounds just like something I need, seeing I currently have a whole drawer full of papers scribbled all over with notes. What is it with me and not being able to be organized? D:
