I’ve just been to [livejournal.com profile] holmes_big_bang’s summary post and done my part.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] anna_bm

Pairing: Holmes/Watson (friendship with an abundance of subtext)

Summary: A movie!verse retelling of the first year at 221B Baker Street. Due to a series of unfortunate events, Holmes ends up sharing his new abode with a man called Dr John Watson, as well as said doctor's dog. Holmes is less than amused at first, but after a while it turns out the arrangement isn't half bad.
A chamber play wherein Holmes has Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD, Watson suffers from PTSD and people talk in circles and misunderstand each other.

Ffffffff. What the deuce. What have I gotten myself into? D:

Okay, Anna, calm down. Deep breaths. In. Out. In. Out. All right. Okay.

Deadline isn’t until June. It’s ages until then. Don’t worry. There’s also the fic collaboration-thingamajig with [livejournal.com profile] ladylovelace, which takes care of the can’t-focus-on-one-thing-at-a-time-ever problem. And this bigbang fic will mostly consist of banter and shilly-shallying. I’m good at writing that. I’m also verbose to a fault, so breaking the 20k limit will be a piece of cake. Don’t worry.

… Can someone please hand me a paper-bag?

(Also, does anyone know how one gets a hold on one of those word-counter things? You know, the narrow bars that gradually fill the more you write? I’ve seen others have them but I don’t know where I can find one for myself.)

Do you mean like this?

That summary fills me with excitement and flaily joy.

For extra-bonus help, have you heard of Write or Die (http://writeordie.drwicked.com/)? It's a good way to force yourself to meet word counts. Very useful.

Ohh, ooooooh, and yWriter (http://www.spacejock.com/yWriter.html), which allows you to write individual scenes and slice them up and put them together into chapters and stuff later and have character profiles and junk. I wish I could write in a non-linear fashion so I could get some use out of this program because it has so many bells and whistles.

Just call me Prometheus, except with writerly tools instead of fire.

You have no idea how happy I am hearing that. Here, have a star:

I was this close to writing "A fic in which bugger-all happens and Holmes and Watson are neurotic wrecks" but figured it didn't sound all that exciting a summary.

::grabs links:: Thank you, my literary Prometheus! ♥ yWriter sounds just like something I need, seeing I currently have a whole drawer full of papers scribbled all over with notes. What is it with me and not being able to be organized? D:

It sounds awesome! I'm looking forward to reading it, but when you're writing remember that you are doing this for yourself, not for anyone else! It is you who write it for your own pleasure, so don't kill yourself trying to meet peoples' expectations!

It would be easier to write for someone else, because I believe no one have higher expectations on me than I myself. Ah, perfectionism, it is a curious thing indeed.

Thank you so much for the pep-talk! It helped, it honestly did. ♥
