The first real week of school is over. \o/ Apart from the fact that I'm mildly hysterical over how much I have to do both in fandom and real life and how I just don't have enough time, everything's fine. We were taking our school photos today; for once I didn't like like a deer caught in headlights. Like I said, things are great.

You've probably noticed it, but I've changed my layout. What do you think?

And here is some fanart. Just sketches, and gen. Huh. Didn't think I could manage that.

The Forbidden Section - Concept Sketch

The sketch for a proper drawing I'm thinking about doing, if only I could get the perspective right. Thus, con-crit is very much appreciated. No reference used.

First Meeting

If it wasn't so sketchy, it would be an illustration to my still in-progress First Year-fic. Remus and Lily meeting for the first time, in the library. No reference used.

Sirius Sketch #1

Ickle First Year!Sirius. Part of a drawing I just gave up on. It's supposed to be Remus' bed, and Sirius is listening to Remus reading. Reference used.

Remus Sketch #1

A surprised Remus. I tried to make him look 11, but he ended up looking 13-14 instead. Bleh. No reference used.

Remus Sketch #2

Remus sleeping. His face is a little off, though I can't really tell what's wrong with it; is it too long? No reference used.

Sirius Sketch #2

This sketch actually has a story behind it: in the boys' First Year (not related to my fic) Sirius has nightmares and can't sleep. Remus says that if he thinks it would help, Sirius can borrow his teddy-dog. And straight away Sirius can fall asleep. Still, he looks far too girly here; I really need to practice drawing children and let's not even get started on the body and limbs. No reference used.

Oh, these are darling!

First Meeting is sweet and what a wonderful concept. I love to think of Remus and Lily as friends!

And Remus could be 11 in #1. All kids look different. #2 is darling, I love the look on his face and #3 is, perhaps, my fave. Are you going to write about that?

Oh, thank you! <3 I'm so glad that you liked then!

Yes, I've always thought Remus and Lily would be good friends. Also, it ties in nicely with film!canon. *g*

I'm thinking about writing the ficlet down. Maybe I'll get around to it soon. Hopefully.

Oh, these are lovely. <3

I really like the first sketch of Remus and the second sketch of Sirius, but they are all gorgeous.

Also, I love the look on Remus' face in the second sketch of him.

eh, boys can sometimes look a bit girly at age 11, especially when they have hair like Sirius's that they'd let grow that long...

These are adorable!

Good luck with the finished pieces! ;)

I'll... admit that I'm ridiculously fond of Sirius having long curly hair like in the films. It just looks so... pretty.

I especially love Sirius Sketch #1, it's refreshing to see him with gangly limbs and generally really slim and not always Remus as the skinny one. These are so wonderful :) Thank you for sharing! (OMG and Remus Sketch #2 makes me want to cuddle someone to death. I need my teddybear (not that I have one, mind you) now! Or my teddy-sirius!)

Thank you! I'm so glad to hear that you like them!

Personally, I find it a bit strange that Sirius and James almost always are portrayed as well-built models (and, to some extent, Remus too). I mean, they're teenaged boys. I look at my 14-years-old brother, and he is so gangly it isn't even funny. Boys are too busy growing to be fit. Not saying that gangliness doesn't have its charm, too. *g*

I take inspiring someone to cuddle someone else to death as a huge compliment! *g*

YESSSSSSS I know what you mean. Peter can be the pudgy one forever (for all I care at least) but Sirius and James weren't perfect from the very beginning. If you take Harry - he's skinny, it's stressed several times in the book, and he looks generally like James so I'd say James was awfully skinny during puberty too, until he outgrew it at last.

I actually come from a family that can draw stick figures, so I don't know where this interest for drawing comes from. A distant relative, perhaps?

Possibly a recessive gene?
