I've had a splendid idea; instead of always whining about how little time I have (you really must be getting sick of hearing me harp on that by now), I'll tell you when I actually have time. So if I don't say anything, you can assume that I'm still in despondency.

- I've gotten shoe inserts. Or, gotten and gotten; I've bought them (with help from mum, bless her). Apparently my feet are wonky too, not just my brain. My arches are too high, and I walk too much on the inner sides of my feet. So I went to an orthopaedist (my brother's, actually) and got specially built inserts.

My feet like them.

- The funny thing is, I'd never heard of "Twilight" until a few days ago. Now I've read snarky recaps and MSTs of that thing, and all I have to say is...

Bloody hell, I've read fanfics on fanfiction.net that's more well written. How is it possible that woman got her work published? Argh.

Oh well, it's positive from my point of view; it won't be as hard to make a debut as I thought it would be. *g*

- My only vice in this life-- Alright, so that's the worst lie of the century. I have ridiculously many vices, but one of them is pretty graphics. Now, I can't make graphics and/or icons to save my life, but I enjoy staring looking at them, sometimes for hours. I'm also a huge fan of [livejournal.com profile] raelala. Thus, I spent a while going through her gorgeous R/S icons, and I asked myself why I don't use more of them. The long and the short of it, I have now updated my icons; the icon I'm using now is one of the new ones. Aren't they pretty? <3 (Also, I've updated my fanfic rec list!)

- I've broken my promise to myself to never read manga again never in my life, and went and bought the God Child-series by Kaori Yuki. Now that I've read the eight books, I am quite speechless. It's positively awesome. Of course, it's tragic and heart-breaking, but in a good way. I admit that I was a sobbing and wailing mess on the floor after I'd finished reading the volumes, but it was worth it. I'm whole-heartedly shipping Riff/Kain and Jezebel/Cassian (both practically canon) and I have nothing against Oscar/Maryweather, despite the pedophile vibes. I'm also very fascinated by Alexis relationship with his sons. But I won't go on about this any longer; I might write a review later, when I can dig into this more deeply.

- I feel in the mood for drawing, but I can't really figure out what motive to use. Anyone want to prompt me? Anything Harry Potter-related is fine (especially anything to do with MWPP and/or Lily *g*).

Well, that's all for today, I think. I hope you're all feeling fine!

Oh, shoe inserts. I have those at home, too, to help with my flatfoots, but I rarely use them anymore. Of course, my feet aren't always too happy with that. Although it's much better already. There was a time when I couldn't walk without shoe inserts, because my feet would start hurting like hell after a short time.

I don't understand the Twilight hype either. Many of my real life friends are into it and I just don't understand why. To be honest, the writing style of Stephenie Meyer leaves a lot to be desired. But, trust me, they're even worse in German. The translation is - as always - horrible.

Ooooh, pretty new icons. <3

My feet love the inserts. It still feels a bit odd walking around with them, but my feet absolutely don't want to be seperated by them. It's strange to walk around in shoes all the time, though, seeing I mostly walked barefoot before.
Ah, my brother has flatfeet too. He had a rather funny reaction when he learned that I would get inserts too. He sulked and then said, "Can't I have any disablement for myself?" *g*

Stephenie Meyer (why does she spell her name like that? I'm ashamed to have the same last name as her.) style is inseparable from a fourteen-year-old at FF.net. It's just... god, it's awful. Awful, I tell you. She's 34 years old (God bless Wikipedia) and I must say that I write better than her. If a non-native, 16-year-old girl who almost only writes about mentally screwed-up middle-aged men is a better writer than a published American novelist, what does that say about the latter? What makes me really lash out, however, is that people compare Harry Potter to Twilight. I can't see how that is possible. Harry Potter is about a boy growing up, with a complex and remarkable plot and a character gallery filled with unique and realistc characters. Twilight is about a Mary Sue and her Gary Stu-boyfriend. They aren't in the same league; in fact, their leagues are so far apart that if Twilight's league were to explode, Harry Potter's wouldn't hear about it for three days.
... Oh my, I'm so sorry I started to rant. And I'm very sad to hear that German can't do decent translations either (Sweden is crap at that too).

Yeeesss, the icons are ~pretay~. My preciousssss...

Yes, I just can't understand how something that is indentical to bad!fic can be published and cherised, while fics that ought to be required reading (http://community.livejournal.com/remus_lupin/89063.html) are scoffed at by non-fandom people. It's just... so sad, really.

And your review was quite excellent. If I'd try to do the ssame, I would only have got rambly and ranting. Very well put down! *g*

Thank you!!

And I meant to thank you for that link, earlier. It made my day and went straight to my Memories. I needed that, too. I've been dealing with a total Sirius-hater who found Sirius' relationship with Harry "disturbing," and it was kinda getting me down!

"The Past Is Mine" is just too lovely for words, isn't it? It's actually one of the few fics that makes me cry and I still enjoy reading.

I've been dealing with a total Sirius-hater who found Sirius' relationship with Harry "disturbing,"
... Bwah? Disturbing? And a Sirius-hater? Do they even exist?
Alright, snarkiness aside, I really can't see that person's point of view. Of course, I've been a crazy-rabid Sirius-fangirl ever since the third book came out (even when I didn't even like the books anymore) and one of the million reasons I love him is because of his fierce loyalty. I once read in a fanfic that Harry was sort of all of the Marauders' son, and that has stuck with me. Sirius and Remus love him, and I think Peter does too, deep down. So what is disturbing is the amount of Sirius/Harry fanfics on the net (Remus/Harry is... not quite as disgusting, but still sick).

Argh. That became way too teal deer. Sorry for that!

This person was on a sorting community of which I'm part of. H/she did not like the House into which s/she was sorted (Gryff) and was doing an appeal. I'm on the board for that. H/she thought that Sirius' relationship with Harry was "disturbing," and that they should have been separated. h/she also considers Sirius a liar, a fool, reckless, immature, etc. What struck me most was the utter lack of compassion and the way s/she clung to preconceived notions of what an "adult" is.

Personally, I think that Sirius was a wonderful Godfather to Harry. He loved him and, most importantly, did NOT treat him like a child. That is what Harry really needed in his life, anyway, not parental authority, but someone who would be open and honest and tell him the truth. Besides, Sirius loved him enough to risk his life and that's HUGE.

Ironically, I got asked to write Harry/Sirius for a fest. (I'm Pinch Hitting.) Thank GAWD their second choice was MWPP-era R/S because I just don't think I could do it. I'm with you on that one!

Do you have a link to that fic or was it just as idea. I rally like that.
